I have the Google Docs of Kiahdaj's guide. I just dislike reading on my phone

I could send it to you, over Discord, to read on mobile.

It's the pictures.

how do you know if youre imagine a tulpa talking to you instead of a tulpa actually talking to you?
1:19 AM
oh my
Avatar
First you'd have to know what the difference between the two is, and I'm not sure anyone knows for sure, but I'm betting that if you think about and come to an answer on the topic it will help you out on getting over your question.
1:23 AM
Like, what is the difference between you imagining a tulpa speaking to you, and a tulpa speaking to you?
Avatar
well she kinda talks like me is one thing
1:24 AM
so that leads me to believe its abit of imagining
1:24 AM
but i cant be too sure
Avatar
Is there anything else?
Avatar
well
1:31 AM
the thing is before this i used to talk to myself in my head
1:31 AM
and feel abit like putting my tulpa over the voice of the second voice
Avatar
Can you toy with the idea of having your tulpa speak and comparing that speech directly with you doing what you just described?
1:33 AM
trying to see the differences in it, with the understanding that finding differences will make them more pronounced, and looking for differences can lead you to bring differences into existence as you can get a person to hear a sound in a quiet room by asking "can you hear that?". (edited)
Avatar
well the thing with speaking
1:36 AM
im not 100% sure shes vocal, she does have a voice but parrotnoia~
Avatar
But there are times you hear something, and you identify that something as, at least in some form or way, your tulpa speaking, right?
1:40 AM
you hear or even thoughts of your own that you aren't quite sure about
Avatar
usually when im passive forcing
Avatar
The holy rule of tulpa, they aren't magic. They develop slowly from a seed, and that seed is your own thoughts. A tulpa is like an association between a smell and a memory, more-so than a surrogate brain, in my belief. The key point being, you don't choose to remember when you smell, it's something that just happens. What you are doing here is beginning the process of developing those associations that slowly become stronger. As they do, they begin to operate as a habit does, going off without your attempts to set it off. In your head there is a constant rush of activity, thought, and action, as you build up these things to go off on their own, some subset of that chaotic thought gets recognized and identified as "not me". You mention you hear your tulpa when you passive force, what I think is happening is you are beginning to see the establishment of these habits.
Avatar
so i guess im going in the right direction?
1:50 AM
i just gotta define differences
Avatar
More forcing is always better
1:51 AM
don't be afraid to have your tulpa talk in chat, even if it "is just you pretending"
1:51 AM
so long as you aren't actually just pretending, doing that is bad, but if you are just overcoming some doubt that you are doing that, you're good in my book
Avatar
what do you think about
1:52 AM
constant passive forcing vs 1hr of active forcing
Avatar
my theory is that passive forcing is 100% better, and the more you focus on forcing while doing other stuff the better
1:53 AM
involving your tulpa in your day to day life, getting them to have thoughts and associations with stuff you do, that sorta thing
1:54 AM
active forcing isn't bad, though, I just think passive is better, if you manage to do it. It's a lot harder than active
1:54 AM
namely, you have to keep your tulpa in the back of your mind all day long
1:54 AM
busy doing dishes? working? distracted by school? you get the idea
Avatar
i just get extremely bored and sleeping active forcing, i just try to passive force alot
Avatar
active is by no means bad, and I do think you should do it as well
Avatar
but my visualizations are going to be crap arent they? i mean i can kinda visualize while passive forcing
Avatar
I am not the best of role models
1:56 AM
but I do almost no visualization or form
1:56 AM
so a) you don't have to have, and b) I can't tell you how to get it because it's not something I do very much (edited)
Avatar
okay thanks last question
1:58 AM
at work i like to listen to music and people talk, while passive forcing
1:58 AM
is this ... too many sound channels!?
Avatar
I personally think that's good
1:58 AM
more chaos is better, the less you are preoccupied with thinking about your tulpa the more opportunity for free thought
1:59 AM
given that you build a foundation through active forcing as well, and have a sense that your tulpa is there in your head, and ready to speak, and "about" to speak, as well (edited)
2:00 AM
A busy brain with the tulpa in mind, primed to come up in your thoughts at a moment's notice through one of any number of triggers or associations.
2:00 AM
sorry, I'm speaking as much for my own sake as I am to answer your question
Avatar
yeah its really helping!
2:01 AM
when you say foundation you mean like
Avatar
Well that's good, I hope you find success with it
Avatar
wonderland form
2:01 AM
personality
2:01 AM
right?
Avatar
yeah, that sort of thing
2:02 AM
the sort of stuff you make really early on when you narrate and come up with a form and all of that
2:02 AM
early on and later on, it isn't for beginners, but it's a good place to start
Avatar
i made the foundation 4 years ago tho, then took a break after 3 months till now, i still remember about everything now except some personality traits
2:04 AM
any opinions?
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 6/15/2018 2:04 AM
opinions on what?
Avatar
Nothing seems that weird to me, I have no idea what a big gap like that does to a person in terms of making a tulpa
Avatar
yeah really big gap
2:07 AM
but its amazing i still remember bout everything
2:07 AM
i guess im abit more mature
Avatar
after 4 years, almost certainly. Mind me asking what your age range is?
2:08 AM
teenager, young adult, adult, thirty, fourty, old?
Avatar
[I like how after fourtys you are just old lmao]
Avatar
twas 18 4 years ago
Avatar
[smoothe]
Avatar
hey, it's the truth
2:10 AM
and that's good, I'm always disappointed when someone turns out to be like 15 after giving them advice and I have to say... "now hold on a minuite, you're a bit young".
Avatar
and how often is that
2:11 AM
lol
Avatar
more often than you would think, i believe
Avatar
one of three?
2:12 AM
that's what it feels like, at least
Avatar
i feel like tulpamancy average age is like around 20s?
Avatar
Should be ,if it isn't, but I have no idea
Avatar
empirically, from this group of 3 people, that is accurate
Avatar
median age probably is, average I feel is a bit skewed by the ones who are like 50
Avatar
lets take out the outliers, probaby be around 20 from the 15s to 30 year olds
Avatar
all the five year olds with imaginary friends do a bit to throw the numbers off as well
Avatar
but they dissapear dont they
Avatar
many of them, yes
Avatar
imaginary friends are not the same thing as tulpas
Avatar
some do not
2:16 AM
and that too
Avatar
I know, I'm joking around with that one
2:17 AM
back in the day I had an imaginary friend, but my creative mind called him "super reguile"
2:17 AM
like, when I was 5 back in the day. This is probably more appropriate for lounge, sorry.
Avatar
its fine
2:18 AM
seems like beginners become lounge like 50% of the time
Avatar
if it's the existence of an ongoing conversation in lounge that's deterring you from going there, there's a 2nd lounge known as #general-chat
Avatar
Yeah, it seems to be a common trend for some reason. Please try keeping unrelated topics into #lounge or #general-chat if possible. It's okay to have a little off topic here and there, but if the topic shifts into something unrelated, it needs to be redirected. For example, the latest conversation was more of a #tulpa-discussion thing.
Avatar
we should have a survey
4:37 AM
to see the average age for tupp people
4:38 AM
I'll make one!
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 6/15/2018 4:38 AM
pretty sure there have already been surveys on /r/tulpas for that

There’s like a hundred

You are welcome to do another if you really want to. Please put it in research in that case.
